The Final Examination

'Sigh'.... I cant believe that my final examination is just around the corner. Im not ready to face thisy et because im still struggling two complete my last two assignments. I hope i can make it before its too late. Sometimes i feel that im so used to doing last minute revisions that my brain cannot absorb whatever i have studied three weeks before an examination. But whenever i burn the midnight oil, i'll be able to remember what ive studied and i can sit for my examination with ease. Is final examination really important? I know that this is a ridiculous question but with all the assignments that i have done, i find it hard to prepare and accomplish this final 'assignment'. A train of questions always fill my mind one week before my finals. Will i pass with flying colours? Will i sit in a corner and cry after getting my results? My mind is now a 'tangled knot' as i sit here figuring out what else to write about my final examination that is drawing near as we speak. I always believe that final examinations are just part of the education system which its main purpose is to push students to the brink of insanity but now, i have realised that without a final examination, there's no way for me to excel later in life. Ive got to to push myself hard and my final examination is the sole gateway for me to do well and get a good GPA points for this semester.

My favourite fictional character

Im a huge fan of Dan Brown’s books especially his biggest masterpiece of all time, ‘The Da Vinci Code’. The main character of this book is Robert Langdon, a professor of religious iconology and symbology at Harvard University. He’s the main character for all three of Dan Brown’s bestselling books, ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘Angels and Demons’ and ‘The Lost Symbol’. The fictional professor was created by Brown as a fictional alter ego of himself. Thus, Robert and Dan had something in common. Both the author and the fictional professor was born in Exeter, New Hampshire United States and they attended Phillips Exeter Academy. Professor Robert Langdon is not just some ordinary character in Brown’s books, he has an eidetic memory and always wear a mickey mouse wristwatch that his parents gave him on his ninth birthday. In ‘Angels and Demons’, he was teased by another female character, Vittoria Vetra for wearing the watch, and he told her that the Mickey Mouse reminds him to be young at heart. Robert had a bad childhood experience when he was 7 years old. He fell into a well and got stuck in there for what almost seem like an eternity. As a result, he developed a fear of enclosed spaces. (Claustrophobia). His fear was brought up by the author in all his three masterpieces. Robert Langdon is famous for his problem- solving mind and his intelligence. He is described as a tall and well-built man due to his frequent laps in the swimming pool at Phillips Exeter Academy in prep school and he even played water polo at Princeton University. He teaches Religious Iconology and the fictional field of Symbology at Harvard University. His boldness clearly depicted in ‘Angels and Demons’ when he risked his life to save Vittoria Vetra and he even followed the catholic priest Carlo Ventresca to a helicopter in order to get rid of the lethal antimatter. I can deduce that without a unique character like Robert Langdon, there wont be a story to tell.

Rebecca Black

I had no idea who Rebecca Black is until my lecturer announced that we’re supposed to write a blog about her. Well I dug up pieces of information about her and I found out from Wikipedia that she’s actually a 13 year old singer who became a youtube sensation after singing ‘Friday’. Another wannabe I suppose. ‘Sigh’. Rebecca Black hails from Anaheim Hills, California. She grew up listening to popular singers among tweens such as Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. She loves dancing and she even auditioned for school shows, attended music summer camps aka ‘Camp Rock’ and she tried her luck by singing publicly in 2008 after joining the patriotic group Celebration USA.

I seriously cannot believe that her mother, Georgina Kelly actually paid 2000 dollars to ‘Ark Music Factory’ (record label) for a package that included a choice of two pre-written songs. The main concept for the ‘Friday’ video is presented as a typical Friday for Rebecca. It starts with her waking up, going to school and meeting her friends on the way. Talk about the life of a thirteen year old.

Eventhough I haven’t heard her song yet but I personally think that she’s just some thirteen year old music junkie who wants to be famous in a blink of an eye. But too bad she received terrible reviews and comments from those people who thought her songs sucked. Who would thought a thirteen year old girl would get comments like ‘I hope you cut yourself and die’ or ‘ I hope you cut yourself and I hope you’ll get an eating disorder so you’ll look pretty’. I know this sounds mean but I really hope she will choke on those comments. That would teach her not to grab negative attention from the public. The conclusion, being famous can be a bad thing too if ur song sucks.

Pirates of The Carribean

Im not really a fan of 'pirate' movies but after watching 'Pirates of the Carribean ; Curse of the Black Pearl' i changed my mind immediately. According to Wikipedia, the movie is based on a Walt Disney Theme park ride of the same name. Award winning actors like Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and not forgetting the beautiful actress Keira Knightley are the main characters in this movie. At first the directors contemplated on getting Hugh Jackman to star as 'Captain Jack Sparrow' but he's not well known outside his native country which is Australia, so they hired Johnny Depp instead. Well, im glad they did. Johnny Depp remained as 'Captain Jack Sparrow' in all of the three sequels of the movie. I would be very infuriated if the directors decide to replace him with some cheap actor. Johnny Depp did an excellent job playing the role of a disoriented, drunk, skinny pirate whose ship 'The Black Pearl' was hijacked by 'Captain Barbossa' (GeoffreyRush) and his crew. Its really hilarious to watch Depp and his drunk swaggerin this movie because he simply knows how to delve into his character as 'Captain Jack Sparrow'. At first i though he was a drunkard and a gay in the movie but i was wrong. Thank God i was. I wouldnt want to see a gay pirate starring in a Disney movie, im sure the parents of the United States of America would make it a point to storm in the Hollywood studios with torches! lol.. ;-) And the directors would definitely have to go back and forth to court. In the movie, 'Captain Jack Sparrow'is responsible in assisting 'William Turner' played by the irresistible Orlando Bloom who is in dire need to rescue his damsel who was kidnapped by the head mutineer of the 'Black Pearl' ghost ship, 'Captain Barbossa'. William's lover, Elizabeth Swann played by the sexy Keira Knightley introduced herself as Elizabeth 'Turner' probably because she wanted to save his life and she didnt want him to find out his true identity. Elizabeth knew that William was the only son a pirate, 'Bootstrap'Bill Turner eversince she was a little girl but kept it a secret because the community that she's living in consider pirates as scumbags and despicable creatures therefore, she didnt want William to go through a horrible life just because he's a son of a pirate which he soon will find out. In a nutshell the first installment of 'The Pirates of The Caribbean' movie is fun-fille adventure movie and i guarantee you will laugh your heads off when you watch the antics of Captain Jack Sparrow.

The monkey from my short story

Mr Joe is a mutant monkey that belongs to the US government. The scientists from a private organization have been experimenting on him for 10 years. The extraordinary DNA that Mr Joe possesses now is actually a combination of human and animal DNA. This secretive private organization is contemplating on creating new breed of humans that possess incredible strength, agility, and highly intelligent in the future. Mr Joe is just a mere lab rat…. Oh yes, there’s a but, inside Mr Joe’s body there’s a powerful nano-chip that contains confidential information that has the power to merge all the countries in the world and create a New World Order. In other words, the owner of this nano-chip can rule the entire world. If this chip falls into the wrong hands, all hell will break loose. One of the brilliant scientist have inserted this chip into Mr Joe’s body so that nobody would steal it, and besides, not a single soul outside this organization including the President of the United States of America knew of this experiments except for ‘BOSS” or (Bureau of Secret Service). Three of their best agents, David Anderson, James Montgomery and Gerrard St Joh. Their mission is to retrieve Mr Joe who was stolen by the evil Russian mob leader Henry Vostov Klowaski or better known as Henry V. Henry was the only outsider who knew about the experiments and the micro-chip embedded in Mr Joe’s body. None of the scientists have a clue about how he managed to get hold of a top secret information. Mr Joe is a very intelligent and a cunning monkey so Henry had to think twice before killing him in order to get his hands on the powerful microchip. Mr Joe was forced to travel from one country to another so that Henry can run away from the Interpol agents that were hot one his heels. In the end, Mr Joe had the honor of killing Henry with a laser gun.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a predicament
I am struggling to forget
The things you did to me
I fear i may not see the sunset

Forgiveness was embedded in my soul
But you stole it away like a thief
Darkness has crept into my heart
It's so cold, i am shaking like a leaf

Forgiveness has perished among beasts
Am i beastly for i cannot forgive
You have ripped my pride and dignity
It is a sin if i let you run and live

Forgiveness is still hovering in the air
I cannot grasp it and make it stay
My soul is barren and hollow
I am only able to watch it fade away

Maroon 5

I'm not exactly a die-hard fan of the band Maroon 5, but i think that some of the songs belted out by the lead vocalist are awesome! Songs like 'Misery', 'She will be loved' and lets not forget my all time favourite, 'get out of my bed' makes my mind relax after a long tiring day. When i first heard the voice of Adam Levine aka the vocalist on the radio, i threw back my head and laughed hysterically, why? because he sounded more like a lady than a man thats why. But after listening to his songs a couple of times, i changed my mind. I wonder why they named the band Maroon 5? I'm guessing that maybe the band members were marooned in a desolated island before.. HAHAHAHA!
I must say that eventhough Mr Levine sound like a lady when he sings, he is an eye candy, now thats a plus point for him. I bet all the women in the world would claw their way up to the stage during one of the band's concert just to hug him or uhm, im gonna say it, some women will do anything just get a celebrity's attention, i mean ANYTHING!, I think i know what is the catalyst that drives them round the bend, i mean, seriously i bet some women will go completely bonkers if he pulls them up on the stage, im damn sure that his dreamy eyes that's making the ladies swoon endlessly. But unfortunately he's no longer single. When he appeared on the Howard Stern Show on september 2010, he admitted that he had been dating Sports Illustrated swimsuit and Victoria's Secret Russian model Anne Vyalitsyna sincerely for about eight months. The couple first locked eyes when Maroon 5 performed at the 2010 Sports illustrated Swimsuit Issue release party in Las vegas. Whats up with celebrities nowadays? their always scanning for models as in Victoria's Secret models, whats so great about them anyway? im sure that only a few models who has beauty and brains, the rest of them, oh well, they are only beautiful, just beautiful, no intelligence whatsoever.. 'sigh'... Looks like the hungry 'tigresses' have to start hunting for fresh meat. (im getting good at this mockery thing) hahaha, ;-)
In a nutshell, the songs from Maroon 5 is not that bad afterall, i think im starting to find the band rather appealing to me.. i hope that feeling lasts..

Coldplay

As i was lying on my double decker bed in my room, i heard a strange yet familiar song coming from my antique radio. I moved aside to face my radio and turned up the volume. I know, its 'Clocks' from Coldplay, the British band. Eventhough i have been a fan of them for decades, i still find it odd whenever i hear that song being played on the radio. What i love most about their music is that the tunes are usually soft and haunting. Believe me when i say tehat the songs belted out by lead vocalist can lull you to sleep in a matter of minutes. Chris Martin, the vocalist who is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow, possesses this incredible voice that can drain away all your worries and sorrows when you listen to his songs. Whenever i feel sad or resentful, i always listen to songs like, 'Life in Techicolor', 'In my place', and 'Yellow'. The soft subtle music of the songs help me to mellow down and relax as i sip a cup of sizzling hot Lipton tea. Then i will fall asleep instantly. Looks like i dont need an aspirin afterall. I have my own musical remedy, and that is the british band Coldplay.
Maybe in the future, Coldplay will win an award for the most coolest alternative rock of all time. I would definitely vouch for that.

My Favourite Singer

She has thick wavy hair
She has dark tanned skin
She is the only girl in the world
That makes you dance and twirl

She hails from an exotic land
Her first name reminds you of a bird
Many eyes are captivated by her smile
You want to stop and stare for awhile

She is a world renowned fashionista
I bet every woman envy her
She was never seen to cringe or frown
Eventhough she got punched by Chris Brown

Rihanna is her lovely name
The universe is on her soft finger tips
Nobody can snare her from the world of music
As long as she continues to move her lips

Chinese New Year

Every year in Malaysia, the Chinese New Year celebration is celebrated with a 'big bang'. Eventhough im not a chinese, im always overwhelmed by the 'magic' of this 'Lunar New Year' celebration. When this celebration is brought up in a conversation between me and my chinese buddies, i always conjure up images of fireworks, red envelopes filled with money, and throngs of chinese families flocking into a variety of restaurants to enjoy their reunion dinner with their loved ones. This annual celebration amazes me because its theme of celebration to the chinese calendar whereby every year is marked by different kinds of animals such as the tiger, horse, monkey etc. This year is the year of the rabbit, so that explains the colourful symbols of rabbits in the TV commercials. I watched the news recently and i saw thousands of chinese people going all delirious in the midst of the preparation of this auspicious celebration, people were seen buying rabbits for good luck, and here's the um, the downside of this 'rabbit' year, it seems that cetain irresponsible people were desecrating the main purpose of this celebration by abusing animals, and yes, you've guessed it, the animals are ironically the main theme of this celebration, RABBITS. Some of the chinese citizens in mainland china 'deprive' the rabbits of their fur and kill them for some sick reason. So, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals decided to take matters into their own hands by protesting on the streets of mainland China wearing very little clothing. So much for the happy celebration.. :-)
